I packed my lunch last night, and in it, I included two Weight Watchers mini peanut butter bliss bars.
A single bar is about half the size of a normal candy bar–three inches long, two inches wide. Ish. This would have accounted for 4 Weight Watchers points. I put them, and an apple, two bananas, a turkey sandwich and some cottage cheese in my lunch bag, and sealed it up for today.
I tried to watch TV after I packed up said lunch (until DH turned on a crummy football video game…) but just got up to brush my teeth and get ready for bed instead. Somewhere in the five steps from the couch to the hallway it dawned on me: I could spend those 4 points elsewhere.
Sure, I’d eat the peanut butter bar (I mean..it’s half creamy peanut butter, half chocolate brownie. What’s not to love?). But I decided I wanted to use the 4 points on this:
A huge honkin’ salad with Red wine vinaigrette salad dressing on top.
There’s something to be said for one positive change leading to another!

OK, so what do you DO with the cottage cheese? Do you eat it by itself or dip things in it or what? I tried putting it on toast with tomatoes the other day & just wanted to die.

I hate cottage cheese plain. <–is that horrible to say? It's just NOT GOOD. (I was also tempted to cheese it up a bit *zing* by saying it's just not gouda *zingx2*). Har har.
Lately I've been mixing a teaspoon or two of my fav. jelly into it. My ABSOLUTE fav is to mix lemon curd in…but that stuff is like pure sugar, so…jelly is healthier ;p
I do like to use it in lasagna, or in baked pastas, or enchiladas. But obv. those aren't breakfast-y foods 😉

What?! I think plain cottage cheese is delicious! But everyone else seems to think that makes me a freak. 😉

Blerch! It’s too sour-y for my liking ;p I’m sure you’d like it even more with a dollop of lemon curd 😉

YESSSS! We put it in lasagna & macaroni and cheese, too! I just like… I don’t know what to do with it when it’s in its natural state, except look at it.

Mix it with somethin’ frooty and call it delish ;p

was actually going to say mix it with shredded cheese and some tomato sauce… but that seems a bit weird. Cheese on cheese? ;p

I need toppings on my salad. Lots of toppings. Almost to the point where it’s only toppings. I mean..that’s the best part, right? ;p

Good for you! I have been eating WAY too much junk lately and I feel sooo sluggish. Your lunch sounds fabulous…a big salad, fruit, cottage cheese, and a turkey sandwich?! YUM! I want you to come pack lunches for me every day. Even though I’m not going anywhere.
